Ansonia Capital
Chicago Community Capital Fund is managed by Ansonia Capital, a Chicago-based real estate investment firm. The principals, Robert A. Kaplan and Barclay C. Welch, have successfully invested capital in real estate valued at more than $900 million on behalf of private real estate equity funds, institutional investors and public limited partnerships. They bring to the Fund a uniquely informed perspective because, in addition to this investment expertise, they have also developed and operated multi-family residential and mixed-use properties in urban and infill suburban locations valued at more than $375 million.
Ansonia’s principals have concentrated their activity in the Chicago area since 1990 and have an extensive network of relationships in the real estate and affordable housing communities. As a result of their work in investment, development and housing policy, those relationships extend to include a broad array of market participants including lenders, developers, contractors, architects, property managers, government officials, and housing advocates. Fund investors benefit from the principals’ ability to tap into high-quality information on market conditions and trends, timely intelligence concerning financing terms and investment opportunities, and insight into current housing policy deliberations.
